You’re Exactly Where You Need to Be 🌍

Hi Reader

As you’re reading this, I’m probably somewhere over Africa, heading to Madagascar 🇲🇬 for a final holiday before our big leap to Canada. It’s been a whirlwind of farewells and last-minute packing—who knew relocating could be such an emotional rollercoaster 🥹

For those who haven’t heard, my husband and I are moving to Canada because, well, I’ve decided to dive back into academia and start an MBA at Vancouver Island University! Hearing so much positivity from everyone about this new chapter has been heartwarming.

But, as there are only 2 months left in 2024, I’ve noticed a recent theme in conversations: many friends, coaching clients, maybe even you, feel like they’re “behind.” Wishing they’d traveled more, built stronger habits, or achieved further milestones in business or life. Here’s the little secret I shared with them, and it’s one I remind myself of, too: this journey is yours. You’re not behind—you’re exactly where you need to be.

If you feel inspired by someone else’s story, let that spark a little motivation. But always remember, the only person to measure yourself against is who you were last week, last month, last year. This is your story, unfolding in perfect time.

Will there be backyard gossip next week? Honestly, no clue! WiFi on the tiny island of Nosy Komba is unpredictable, so we’ll see what Madagascar has in store. But either way, know that I’m sending lots of love and encouragement from Africa.

Here’s to your journey, just as it is.

View in browser Hi Reader While I'm typing this, I'm drawn to look outside and see that the snow outside is slowly melting. We had some serious snowfall past Monday and Tuesday. So much so that even the university was closed for two days, and it turned out to be too dangerous to get there (the University is situated on a hill, and the road towards it tends to get icy). I loved it—not that the University was closed; we still had online classes—but the snowfall made everything turn white. One...

View in browser Hi Reader I hope you had a fabulous start to 2025! I surely did, but I'm already failing in one New Year's resolution, and that is getting back into the flow of keeping in touch with you via the Backyard Gossip 🫣 In my defence, I'm still finding my way into this new chapter of my life: MBA studies at Vancouver Island University, Canada, 1:1 coaching, Visionary Women, discovering the Island and building connections! My dear friend and networking expert, J.Kelly would be proud...
