Why does everything always take soo much longer 🫣

Hi Reader

The weekly Backyard Gossip is just a little bit later in your inbox than usual, and just because everything ALWAYS takes longer than you think 🙄

You would think that as a Visionary Planning Coach, I would know this by now, but it still surprises me sometimes. Hence the reason why I find myself sitting behind my computer typing this e-mail later than usual on a Sunday 💌

With less than 7 days before the moving truck is going to come it was time to sort out our belongings. Although we often declutter there are still things that will no longer serve us in Canada 🇨🇦

First of all, because our appliances all work on 220V and Canada only 110V. Secondly, some things we will just not use anymore, and others are just due for replacement!

I thought we were going to "quickly" sort the stuff out in the garage and the storeroom. 5 hours later we managed - in true Marie Kondo style - to have three nice piles:

  • Stuff that goes into the shipping container
  • To Donate
  • Trash - not a lot!

Still to do, kitchen, office, bedroom! But we got 7 days left 😊

Despite the fact that today took us slightly longer, it's thanks to crucial planning that everything is working out so far!

Proper planning has always helped me out not only in my personal life but also in my business(es). As soon as I'm settled on the other side of the world, I'm planning to host a planning workshop 🤣

I'll make a plan to keep you in the loop - sorry, it was stronger than myself 😅

View in browser Hi Reader While I'm typing this, I'm drawn to look outside and see that the snow outside is slowly melting. We had some serious snowfall past Monday and Tuesday. So much so that even the university was closed for two days, and it turned out to be too dangerous to get there (the University is situated on a hill, and the road towards it tends to get icy). I loved it—not that the University was closed; we still had online classes—but the snowfall made everything turn white. One...

View in browser Hi Reader I hope you had a fabulous start to 2025! I surely did, but I'm already failing in one New Year's resolution, and that is getting back into the flow of keeping in touch with you via the Backyard Gossip 🫣 In my defence, I'm still finding my way into this new chapter of my life: MBA studies at Vancouver Island University, Canada, 1:1 coaching, Visionary Women, discovering the Island and building connections! My dear friend and networking expert, J.Kelly would be proud...
