When the Inbox Gets Too Loud 🤯

Hi Reader,

Last week, you didn’t hear from me.
Not because I forgot.
Not because I didn’t have something to say.

But because I felt overwhelmed, the kind of overwhelmed that sneaks up quietly.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday took over my inbox.
Hundreds of emails, deals, countdowns, pressure, noise.

And something about it pulled me into a pause.

We’re living in a world that invites us to care about sustainability, minimalism, and slowing down, yet at the same time bombards us with "consume more, hurry up, and don’t miss out."

It felt contradictory.

And it made me ask myself a bigger question:

Am I showing up in a way that aligns with my values… or am I just moving with the noise?

So the next morning, on my walk by the ocean, I stopped.
I sat, and I reflected.

Because sometimes you need silence to actually hear yourself (and yes I know that can be very scary 😆).

I started thinking about my values, the ones that genuinely guide me as a person, as a coach, as a leader, and as a student.

And that reflection led me somewhere deeper.

It made me think about my upcoming MBA internship in May.
Do I simply apply to whatever crosses my path?
Or do I choose intentionally, aligning with what I’m truly good at, my zone of genius, and where I know I can contribute meaningfully?

Because here’s the truth I keep coming back to:

If we don’t choose our values on purpose, the world will choose for us.

And so today, I want to leave you with one simple but powerful question:

Do you know what your core values are, and are you actually living them?

Not in theory.
Not on paper.
But in practice, in your decisions, in your boundaries, in your energy.

Next week, I’ll share how this reflection led me to make a significant choice, one that required letting go of something I deeply cared about, so I could make space for what’s next.

And who knows… it might inspire something for you too.

Sending you lots of love from Canada 🍁

Peggy

View in browser Hi Reader, Last week I spent a week skiing in Whistler, yes, I (we) had a wonderful time, and I was even in the Olympic Spirit 😊 ⛷️ And it reminded me of something I hadn’t thought about in a while: the joy of being a beginner again. Besides the two days of skiing last year, the last time I went skiing for a whole week was in 2014 😅 Over the past year, I’ve been embracing that beginner mindset a lot, mostly thanks to my MBA journey. When you’re learning constantly, you’re...

View in browser Hi Reader, A short and sweet note this week, I’m off to Whistler for a week of skiing ❄️⛷️ But, I wanted to share this little story with you... Last week, while sitting in a waiting room (one of those unexpected pockets of time), I decided to make the most of it and catch up with a few friends. And then I noticed something. I was texting people in Belgium, South Africa, USA, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Australia and yes, in Canada as well 😅 My gosh! In my MBA cohort alone, my...

View in browser Hi Reader, Last week I had a not-so-nice reminder about something I talk about all the time: The importance of clarity. I had an upcoming quiz in my MBA program, and, wanting to prepare properly (hey, you know me 😏), I reached out twice to clarify exactly what we were expected to study. No response. Crickets. I went into the quiz thinking I had prepared for what was required… and walked out feeling frustrated and honestly a bit angry. Because what I thought we had to study...
