Hi Reader What's new on your horizon?! It’s been a while since my last “backyard gossip”—November 12th, to be exact! Back then, we were saying goodbye to South Africa, and since then, oh boy, life has been a whirlwind. Let me fill you in: ✨ A Heartfelt Farewell Our final week in South Africa was everything I could’ve hoped for—connection, love, and all the feels. We left with full hearts and memories that I’ll carry forever. I couldn’t have imagined a better send-off. 🚀 39 Hours Later… Canada! Yep, 39 hours of travel (and about 392 cups of coffee) brought us from South Africa to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. At the Vancouver airport, we had the nerve-wracking task of finalizing our study and work permits, and guess what? It went smooth as butter! 💨 A Fresh Breeze of Efficiency Speaking of smooth, let’s talk about Canada’s efficiency. In South Africa, we are still waiting on driver’s licenses 🤔 Here? Sorted in under 20 minutes. My jaw hit the floor. Look, don't get me wrong, I'm very grateful for the past 10 years but it is nice that you get things done 🙌🏼 Coming from someone who likes to tick off boxes 😬 🏡 Settling In And YES, in just three weeks, we’ve ticked off so many boxes it feels like a record:
We’re still waiting for our container of belongings, which may take another six months. Until then, we’re embracing the minimalist (and creative) life! 💪 Routines & New Chapters One thing that’s kept me grounded throughout this big move is my morning routine. It’s been my anchor, helping me transition smoothly and stay connected. Early mornings are filled with calls to family and friends (thank you, time zones!) and now—finally—strength training at the gym! We’ve also been taking full advantage of our surroundings: long scenic walks (what else 🤣), spotting sea lions, seals, bald eagles, and even a pair of playful otters. Our new neighborhood is starting to feel like home, bringing a new little adventure every day. Maybe because I get lost quite often 🫣 🎓 What’s Next? On January 6th, I start my MBA at Vancouver Island University—a new adventure I’m thrilled about! What does this mean for coaching? Don’t worry—nothing changes. With evening lectures, my mornings are all yours. 📅 2025 Planning I’m already diving into plans for 2025 and will share more with you next week. It’s going to be an exciting year, and I can’t wait to bring you along for the ride. 💌 Wishing You Joy As we close out 2024, I hope you’re soaking up the magic of this season. I’ll be back in your inbox in 2025 with fresh updates, plans, and probably more otter stories. 😉 Until then, cheers to endings, new beginnings, and everything in between. Peggy |

View in browser Hi Reader I’m back home in South Africa after an incredible holiday in Madagascar, where nature is stunningly untouched, and life seems to have a whole different rhythm. It’s a place where hunter-gatherer communities still thrive, and just 200 meters from our lodge, a fishing village lives completely offline. The kids there played soccer at low tide, learned to paddle traditional canoes, and even spent time just… being bored. And honestly? I couldn’t help but wonder who might...
